“Dumb Luck” and Other Wisdom Hidden in Plain Site

We’ve all heard the phrase “sometimes its better to be lucky than smart.” What if “the crowd” of people defining smart are simply calling you dumb because you’re not doing what they’re doing? Maybe “dumb luck” is a phrase passed on from time immemorial encouraging those to be “dumb” and reap the resulting “luck” associated with its actions. Dictionary defines dumb as:

adjective

  1. 1.

temporarily unable or unwilling to speak.

"they stood dumb while the attacker poured out a stream of abuse" synonyms: silent

In modern times, rejecting modernity at all turns, and “leaning-in” to your unique “dumbness” (seriously read as: silence) is your best bet, and the most powerful tool in your toolkit. The only way to be uncompetitive in an increasingly competitive world, is to compete only with previous versions of yourself, and to constantly beat the shit out of that bastard. Beat him/her until all that remains is strong and stable foundations of who you are. Then build, and build beautifully, and powerfully. I wager you may find plenty of “luck.” Dumbass.
